Wow!
is the first word that comes to mind when trying to describe Spike Jonze's newest film, Where The Wild Things Are.
This very short children's book written by Maurice Sendak some how was manifested into a 94 minute masterpiece by Jonze and still managed to capture the aesthetics and moral purpose of Sendak's short story.
Pros- It's artistry was tremendous and it captivated me from start to finish.
Cons- The voices of the "wild things" were a bit childish and weird (it is supposedly a children's movie). They didn't fit with the artistic feel of the film, i kind of wanted them to be a little more Johnny Depp like.
Rating- 4 out of 5 stars because it was a fantastic film but it wasn't the best of the best.
